I wish to buy Mercedes Trucks , how can I tell from the Chassis number the exact year of manufacture ?

I know there is a guide or table used by traders to find the exact year of manufacture of trucks. I urgently need info about such tables for Left Hand drive Mercedes and Volvo trucks year 1990-2007. Thanks

The best suggestion I can come up with is that you should contact your local Volvo & Mercedes Benz Commercial dealers to see if they can help you. If they can, you may be able to come to some arrangement on servicing etc on any vehicles you buy. Personally, I wouldn't touch Mercedes with a 100 ft pole, - crappy gearboxes- but some people like them!!

I agree - the gearboxes are not the best but the engines are pretty good.
